Low tunnel film is a smaller-scale crop protection cover stretched over hoops directly over crop rows in open fields — used for temporary season extension and frost protection. Greenhouse film is a larger structural covering material used for permanent or semi-permanent greenhouse and polyhouse buildings requiring climate-controlled growing environments.
What width of low tunnel film do I need? ▼
The width required depends on the hoop span and crop row width. As a general guide, choose a film width that covers the hoop span plus at least 30 cm on each side for anchoring. We supply widths from 1 meter to 4.5 meters. Contact us with your hoop dimensions and we will recommend the right width.
What is the Anti-Fog additive and why is it important? ▼
Anti-Fog additives prevent water droplets from forming on the inner surface of the tunnel film. Without it, condensation drops can reduce light transmission by 20–30%, drip onto crops, and significantly increase the risk of fungal diseases such as botrytis. Anti-Fog film is recommended for all vegetable and flower crops sensitive to high humidity.
Can low tunnel film be reused for multiple seasons? ▼
Low tunnel film can be reused if handled carefully during removal and storage. The number of seasons depends on the thickness and exposure level. Heavier gauge films (100–150 Micron) with UV stabilisation are more suitable for multi-season reuse. Thin films used in high UV environments typically serve one or two seasons.
